Looks like it may be a good movie.
I’d thought that Travers refused to allow Disney to do another one, but I guess the estate must have allowed it.

Oh thank goodness. I was was worried that someplace, somewhere there was a beloved IP that had not yet been remade. Particularly an early Disney property as Walt had a number of problematic opinions about things that can now be fixed.
It’s not a remake. It’s a sequel.
Disney already banked on this IP again when it made the movie “Saving Mr. Banks” with the same actor that saved Pvt. Ryan.
Travers forbade a second movie while she was alive (and, contrary to “Saving Mr. Banks”, she HATED the Julie Andrews/Dick van Dyke original. Now that her estate owns the IP, they were much more amenable to being bludgeoned with big bags of money.
I distinctly remember reading a sequel to Mary Poppins when I was young, but the movie apparently is a different plot entirely.
I will watch Emily Blunt is just about anything but I suspect that Disney is continuing its SJW sojourn. But the review did say it was like TFA and not TLJ so maybe it will turn out OK.
