Good article, but the very fact that we've come to any kind of a point in the world that we even NEED to defend capitalism is repugnant.

What we need to do, as the worlds leading "evil capitalists", is keep all our ill gotten gains to ourselves for a while. Let all the detractors of our evil system do without. Perhaps we'd be better appreciated if we quit feeding the hungry and protecting the weak with our dirty money and imperialistic attitudes.

Maybe a new confederation of countries should be setup, ones we can trust to have our backs politically and economically. An all Anglo Alliance. As I don't see anyone else who would join or protect a NON-Anglo group interests. Or maybe expand it to include Israel, Japan and Taiwan.

Steve,
I still like that idea, but as 9/11 proved, even if you try that those who hate you for it will be able to come after you in order to perpetuate the current extortion racket.
That's why I gave up on politics. IMHO, the only real solution is to put large amounts of vacuum between ourselves and those who seem to be stuck in the past. If they want the world so bad, give it to 'em. I'll settle for the rest of the universe.
