  1. And John Bolton’s a tower of intellectual might when it comes to this stuff.

On what basis would one think otherwise? Compared to Obama, he seems to be a foreign-policy genius (though that’s admittedly a low bar).

I keep hearing all this whining about John Bolton, but I’ve never heard a substantive complaint. Do you actually have a critique of what he wrote, or are you reduced to mindless ad hominem?

Do you have anything useful to contribute to the discussion? If not, why waste my disk space and bandwidth?

  2. On what basis would one think otherwise?

His performance at the UN, his performance at various hearings, his performance in numerous TV interviews, his appearance on The Daily Show where he started making up history.

We’ll gloss over his thankfully brief tenure at the UN because I assume that you wanted a guy who treated it with contempt as ambassador. Go diplomacy go!

So when a man who was caught out making up matters of history on The Daily Show opens an opinion piece with his view of a historical event then I raise an eyebrow. When he starts to draw, as you often do here, what I consider to be utterly false analogies, as he does halfway through his Opinion piece then I feel fairly confident that the man is talking, as he has done, in public so often, out of his arse.

  3. In other words, you still don’t have an actual argument against anything specific that he has actually said or done.

    Hardly surprising, considering the source.

  4. This is off-topic:

I almost wish that it had been a top Obama staffer dressed the way this McCain aide was, just so I could enjoy the reaction from Rand and the commenters here!
If Romney had won, and it had been his staffer, it would have been even funnier.

Partisanship aside, this is a very strange photo:

    Back on topic:

I think Daveon is referring to Amb. Bolton’s claims about Lincoln, and about the notion that a president’s appointees should reflect the president’s views rather than be “a team of rivals” to challenge the president’s thinking. Here’s a video of Bolton versus historian Doris Kearns Goodwin (author of “Team Of Rivals”), but unfortunately mediated through Jon Stewart (it would have been fun to see Goodwin and Bolton directly debate.) http://www.comedycentral.com/videos/index.jhtml?videoId=84111

  5. Someone here is an idiot. Only an idiot would suggest that John Bolton is anything other than a walrus.

  6. Nothing wrong with that t-shirt Robert, it’s a laugh.

I still wish Rudy Giuliani would have won but hey he’s got other interests so I guess it’s all right ^_^

You’re right about the idiot part but you need to see an optician ^_^ (I mean visit, you obviously wouldn’t be able to actually see him ^_^)

  7. I should note that I named Anonymous Moron, since he or she was too cowardly to leave his or her name with his or her idiotic comment. I’m going to make this a general practice, though I may get more creative with the names (like “Elephant Felcher”).
