  1. “Oh crap! Was that today?” I love the cartoons.

The 11th chapter of Hebrews tell christians that faith is supposed to be based on evidence and reason and absolutely not gullibility. “Let your reasonableness be known to all” Phil 4:5

Lazy thinking fundamentalists have turned god into Loki, a trickster. So god planted bones and put light beams on their way to fool us. Very sad.

When anybody says something, including god, they know what they mean to say. This doesn’t prevent others from interpreting things in different ways creating strawman. I do admit, there are many things in the bible difficult to resolve with observation, but over time they have become less and less as my understanding has grown.

Asimov said the Hebrews were too stupid to realize the value of pi. But that is because he introduces the assumption that a 30 unit ‘sea’ was round. If hexagonal the value of 3 is the correct ratio of diameter to circumference and it turns out the flowers mentioned in connection with it are six sided.

Asimov also used a glass bowl strawman (even if people then did have that view it says nothing of what is meant by what is written) to discredit Job talking about the earth being a sphere (an accepting meaning of the word usually translated circle) hanging on nothing. A pretty vivid view of the truth that most people only understand today after we have gone into orbit (which was made Apollo 8 so stunning.)
