  1. Your average college freshman today is 18-19 years old. That kid was 8-9 years old when 9/11 took place – old enough to know something very bad happened, old enough to share the fear most of us felt waiting for the next big attack to take place but too young to really grasp what happened. That was a pivotal moment in most people’s lives – we all remember where we were and what we were doing when it happened. It was over half a lifetime ago for those kids.

    So, if they want to celebrate Osama’s death, let them. I sure as hell didn’t shed any tears over his demise nor do I believe any of that “any man’s death diminishes me” nonsense. Some people cause so much misery that the world is a better place without them.
