  1. A number years ago here in Raleigh, pre Limbaugh, we had a talk show host Jerry Agar, who was from Canada, but was a citizen. He was also a 2nd Amendment supporter soles of his shoes to tips of his hair!

He had a regular Friday segment with one of the local hyper-lib newspaper reporters. I don’t remember why they were talking guns, but he asked her WHY we see every report of a gun being misused in MSM, but we never heard about anyone defending themselves or their homes with a gun. Without missing a beat, thinking she’d seem smarter than anyone else in the class, she said,
    .
    .
“…it DOESN’T get reported, because it NEVER happens!”
    .
    .(emphasis HERS)

Agar grilled her a little, she wouldn’t move from her idjet stance, her segment over, show done, move on to Monday’s show. He started in by saying he’d been sent two dozen stories, over the ensuing weekend, of people defending themselves with all manner of firearms.

After that, at the start of every Friday show, and before the hyper-lib had her segment, he would read three or four stories from JUST the week of that show, telling of people who had done what she said NEVER happens, defending themselves, their families or friends and their homes with a firearm.

My NRA Magazine has a section like that every month.

  2. About 15 years ago I drew my Ruger P89 on a man trying to force his way into my mothers house. Cops came and took him away, as he happened to be wanted on arson charges. No big deal, never made any sort of news. I’m sure similar events happen across America every day.

    1. What! You drew a lethal weapon on a non-violent guy just doing what he had to do to make ends meet! How, how… Why look at his record of… Oh… Arson… yeah…. um… I’m glad nothing happened here. No story here at all.

  3. I guess the media CAN control the debate. After all, how many of us chimed in on the actual shooting conversation. But not too many of us felt this needed discussion.

Then again, lack of conversation must mean everyone pretty much agrees that the MSM is manipulating the gun stories.
