  1. Well, sounds like Walmart might some day soon become another cautionary tale. This is the thing that people who obsess over the power of businesses fail to get. If Walmart, the current second largest company in the US by revenue, happens to become too bad a place to shop, then customers will go elsewhere and Walmart will disappear in a poof of bankruptcy. An equivalent government service can be as dysfunctional as it wants to be.

  2. I wonder if the Feds will decide that Walmart is “too big to fail,” and prop it up. Of course, we’ll have to reinstate the organic veggie and skinny jeans sections, you know.

  3. The basic Wal-Mart customer didn’t leave Wal-Mart. What happened is that Wal-Mart left the customer.

    I can agree with this. I used to shop at the nearby Walmart, but now drive a little further to a more competitive market. I’d still shop at Walmart if I got the product I used to at the price I used to pay. BTW, same can be said for BestBuy.
