When I first moved to a farming community in the early 70’s, the most likely to call immigration or to exploit the illegals status were some of the native Hispanics. The great majority of the bosses were Anglo and mostly were honest in their dealings since if they weren’t word got around fast and they wouldn’t find workers. Of course, most were just honest and decent as a mater of course.
There have long been lots of stories about how poorly migrants in Mexico are treated. The quickest way to see the inside of a Mexican jail is for an American to be caught gainfully employed without the very hard to get proper Visa.
Most Hispanics, nearly all of them, have either a lot of European admixture or are the offspring of Spanish colonists. Democrats like to portray them as the victims of colonialism rather than the perpetrators. Ever notice how many many Mexicans cheer for Spain in the World Cup as their back up team?
How many people think of Caucasians as being super pale as opposed to looking like Iranians? The truth of the mater is that ethnicity can’t be strictly determined by skin color.
Ever seen the pride that Mexicans have for their country even while fleeing it to live in a much much better country, the USA? How many protests have we seen where illegal immigrants wave the Mexican flag while claiming the belong in the USA? I think the pride is laudable.
Trump should harness this pride and cater to it in order to get Mexico to stop being so submissive to other countries.

Mexico is pretty sharply divided between those that claim Castilian ancestry and those that can’t. They are probably as deeply racist as any country, just not on the basis of skin color.
I’m guessing there is some skin color involved in that argument. There certainly is in Puerto Rico.

Mexico’s current president, in response to the Oscar success of Roma, said it’s time to admit that Mexico is a deeply racist country.
Most of the Mexicans I’ve known well enough to chat might as well be Rednecks. The funny part is, the Mexicans and Rednecks seem to be aware of this. Import enough Mexicans and we’ll wind up with Hopalong Cassidy as President.
