I generally do this, only putting on sandals or slippers to go outside. I’ve had issues with fungus in the past, and it helps to let my feet breathe. And only having cats, and not kids, there is no Lego danger.

I go barefoot or with footies in the house. My cat occasionally leaves out dead mice for me to step on in the night. I’m slowly losing my eyesight now (Great! Deaf AND blind!) so less likely to see either things on the floor or my brindled calico, who is effectively a black cat.
I like to wear socks but sometimes barefoot. I have a policy of not wearing outside shoes in the house to keep it cleaner but of course, it doesn’t matter because I have a dog. But I also have several pairs of inside the house footwear. I’m practically a Japanese Mr Rodgers.
