The E.U. was intentionally set up as a bureaucracy that is not accountable to its public. This is the reason why it deserves to be deep-sixed.
I remember seeing a TV documentary about the singer Tom Jones a few years ago. Apparently he came from a Welsh coal mining family, and hit it big as a pop singer. He lived the high life in the mid-60’s, and then was injured in an automobile accident.
He went back to his parents’ home to recuperate, and his mother greeted him at the door with “Who the hell do you think you are?”
