  1. Well, the world’s alphas have gone soft. Just a touch o’ that ruthlessness with which the whiners continually task us would probably do worlds of good, send many scurrying back under their rocks like the cockroaches they are, while the rest would cquire a properly tight sphinctered attitude of fearful respect.

Ah, for the days when the peasants tugged their forelock and gazed mutely at their bare muddy feet when I rode past, armor poolished by the all-morning sweat and tears of grubby squire, a dashing oriflamme on the fir lance smartly snapping in the fresh breeeze.

  2. My comments are being held up in Rand’s spam filter, but see the “Democracy In Egypt” comment thread for my explanation of how Rand is another kind of useful idiot — the kind who is manipulated by extremists into becoming the opposition.

  3. Uh, for what it’s worth, people here and elsewhere talk smack about Glenn Beck, but he was putting Jihadis and Socialists / Communists together as buddies and coworkers months and MONTHS ago. Three weeks ago the NYT ran opeds saying he wasn’t just wrong, but delusional.

He doesn’t seem so crazy now.

Nope, not by a damn sight:

It is one thing to know abstractly, for example, that the Soviets sponsored terrorism in the Middle East. It is another to read a newly translated memorandum from longtime KGB head Yuri Andropov to Communist Party general secretary Leonid Brezhnev requesting authorization to fund a detailed plan by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) to kill civilians around the world…

  5. Titus,
it seems to me that most Americans cannot wrap their heads around the fact that some COUNTRIES are run by people who are willing to kill the citizens of other countries, or their heads of state to get “X” system of government (or religion) in place worldwide.

It baffles me after the near constant wars of the 20th Century, all of which are on film and undeniably happened, that people think that way.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

For some, acknowledging the evil of the Left hits too close to home. Witness how acknowledgement of Nazi atrocities is contingent upon Nazis being “right wing.”
