  1. It’s not just the area that’s important, it’s how thick it is. Same for the Arctic.

    I’m in agreement with Jerry Pournelle – there’s more data to be gotten to figure out what’s going on. Let’s get the data before we cut trillions from the world GDP taking measures that might not be needed.

    1. Seems to be thinner and caused by increased wind speeds, thinner means it breaks up easier and the wind pushes it out further.

  2. Didn’t you know warmer water freezes faster? With all the missing heat from the last 17 years the southern ocean is at near boiling so it freezes super fast. (Except in the arctic where due to the Coriolis the opposite happens. )
