  1. Yep, unlike the Hmong and Vietnamese who were put in Minnesota in the 70s and quickly assimilated and prospered, the Somalis continue to live off the dole. The friction is the worst in the St. Cloud area, where the local university enables the Somali dysfunction by calling their refusal to assimilate a “white problem”.

  2. Old news.

It used to be that people from Muslim countries were predominately Christian, while Christians are a small minority in Muslim countries. I wonder if this is still true?

Christians have been fleeing persecution for a long time and as a country we are sympathetic to people trying to escape persecution. We open our borders to people from Somalia and other predominately Muslim countries because we see the atrocities taking place there. I don’t understand how people can leave Somalia because the place is a shithole of death and suffering and then embrace the ideology that made Somalia what it is today.

How is it that 100,000 Somalis immigrate every year but we can’t find the visas for people who fought along side us in Iraq and Afghanistan, such as interpreters? it looks like we are screwing over the “good” or “moderate” Muslims that have been friends with us while rewarding those that hate us. Not just through immigration but also through our smart foreign policy that sides with groups like the MB and Islamic militants.

Our immigration system is seriously jacked up. We have Democrats using it to import voters and it is so broken that we let people legally immigrate who shouldn’t be here. I don’t care if politicians make compromises but any immigration “reform” that doesn’t actually fix our legal immigration system is a non-starter.

    1. I don’t understand how people can leave California because the place is a shithole of taxes and Orwellian overregulation and then embrace the ideology that made California what it is today.

      And yet they do.

      1. Back in 1993, I was hired by MCI as they were doing a rapid expansion in Colorado Springs. Many of my fellow employees had relocated from MCI facilities in the DC Beltway and in California. It was a common experience to hear them bad-mouthing Colorado in general and Colorado Springs in particular because we didn’t have all the government programs that were already beginning to bankrupt the coastal areas. They finally quit their complaining around me when I told them that their talk “proves you don’t have to go overseas to be an Ugly American.”

For the longest time, immigrants like my wife made efforts to assimilate into their new country. They learned the language as best they could, respected the laws, paid their taxes, and became good citizens. Sometime in the past 30 years or so ago, many immigrants (especially illegal ones) here in America but also overseas in places like England decided they weren’t going to do that any more. They resist learning the language, they don’t obey the laws, and they insist on maintaining the customs of the countries they fled. They’re becoming Ugly Immigrants. Why did they even bother to migrate if they aren’t willing to adapt to their new country?
