  1. What do you make of Trump taking on the Freedom Caucus? “We must fight them, & Dems, in 2018!”

      1. Exactly. We rejoice that he is not HRC while we simultaneously gnash our teeth that he is such an establishment/Uniparty tool.

      2. Asshat sounds about right. But keep in mind he’s surrounded by enemies he’s being told are friends with more ‘political wisdom.’ They likely told him he just has to pass any bill and they will fix it because that’s ‘just how things work’ in Washington. I also don’t believe he did it with the evil genius plan to fail and so discredit congress. It’s a good thing the conservatives found a backbone. That Trump would take a swing at them is just Trump being Trump. Note he did the same thing with many of the debate contenders when the reality was (and they understood this even if others didn’t) that many (not all) were actually his friends. I wish Trump didn’t do this stupid thing, but he does it because in the NY environment he grew up in, it works. The process stinks, but against the left, it’s a tactic that works because, for one thing, it takes away most of the left power to smear him (like a D student getting praised for getting a C.)

The way to judge Trump is not by every word or action, but by the results over time.

        In other news…
        [sarc]
It is now confirmed (the media breathlessly reports) that General George Patton had meetings with the Russians and even drank alcohol with Russian generals.

The media have used up their full allocation of /sarc tags.

Who’s telling him that and why is Trump listening? Trump isn’t a total rube.

I expected Trump’s administration to be a mess and it is indeed a mess. He’s meeting expectations! I’m willing to wait a year or so to evaluate his administration over a longer time frame, but he’s already done some stuff that’s looking bad over the long term. Turning against the Tea Party hold outs doesn’t look good for him.

          1. Karl, he’s listening to experienced politicians. It’s easy for you or I to say he shouldn’t but not listening is exactly what some accuse him of. It’s impossible for him to please. What he has to do is just continue to focus on his campaign promises and congress has to do their jobs. The result will move us in the right direction even if it pleases nobody.

    1. Seems counterproductive since the Tea Party folks want to drain the swamp but Trump isn’t a conservative standard bearer. He is a moderate establishment type of politician that would be at home in either party.

People are probably reading too much into his comment though.

  2. Inspector Obama!

    “May I use your fffoon?

    “Do you have a reume?”

    “Yes, a shimpanzee minkey.”

    Heh…
