  1. From the article: “Almost everything Mueller has, the perjury and lying cases, are crimes he created through the process of investigating.”

But isn’t that factually incorrect? (And blatantly so?)

The defendants most in the news this last week have been Messrs Flynn, Cohen, & Manafort. Flynn’s charge is for lying to the FBI, which both occurred and was actively being investigated before Director Comey was fired (which, followed by the president’s inability to keep his mouth shut, precipitated Special Counsel Mueller’s appointment). Chohen’s Mueller-relate-charge is for lying to the Senate Intelligence Committee, not to Mueller. And Manafort’s initial charges relate to tax and bank fraud. (Though he has now opened himself up to additional charges of lying to investigators while cooperating with the Special Council. His lawyers initially disputed this, but their court filing today suggest that they will not be disputing it as it applies to his upcoming sentencing.)

Rick Gates did have one charge of making false statements to investigators, but that was minor compared to his other financial charges.

Richard Pinedo’s identity fraud charge dates to 2016.

The Russians — Dzheykhun Aslanov, Gleb Vasilchenko, Irina Kaverzina, Vladimir Venkov, Anna Bogacheva, Maria Bovda, Robert Bovda, Mikhail Burchik, Mikhail Bystrov, Aleksandra Krylova, Vadim Podkopaev, Sergey Polozov, Yevgeny Prigozhin, Konstantin Kilimnik, Boris Antonov, Dmitriy Badin, Nikolay Kozachek, Aleksey Lukashev, Artem Malyshev, Sergey Morgachev, Viktor Netyksho, Aleksey Potemkin, Ivan Yermakov, Pavel Yershov, Aleksandr Osadchuk, & Anatoliy Kovalev — and the Russian organizations — Internet Research Agency LLC, Concord Catering, & Concord Management and Consulting LLC — are variously charged with conspiracy to defraud the US, bank fraud, money laundering, & identity theft — and none are charged with making false statements.

This leaves only George Papadopoulos & Alex van der Zwaan who have been charged solely or primarily with (and plead guilty to) lying to the Special Council’s investigators.

    1. Yeah, all of that stuff only became a thing due to the fradulent Russian collusion investigation. It wasnt a crime for Flynn to speak to anyone and he was only investigated because of the bogus claims of collusion. The government already knew there was no collusion but Comey and other Obama holdovers were part of the Resistence and determined to “investigate” Trump no matter what.

The process is the punishment. It is a coordinated effort between government officials, the DNC, and foreign agents to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the election, mire the President in a bureaucratic quagmire preventing him from implementing his agenda, and potentially remove him from office.

It is quite possibly the biggest scandal in American history. When was the last time a coup was attempted?

  2. I’ve said it before but it bears repeating, the Obama administration was spying on both the Trump campaign and the Russians in real time. The Mueller investigation wont be as complete as the investigation done by Obama’s spooks during the election.

There was never a need for a Mueller since the government already knew everything and if there was something there, would have presented the information and made arrests two years ago.

Yes and furthermore…the responsibility for the integrity of the election process/results were also on the Obama administration’s watch; so how could they have so carelessly allowed alleged Russian incursions to happen? Why so little public criticism of their (Obama administrations’) incompetence in not preventing such from happening.
