  1. The think tanks in general politics have little to say on space at all, even less to say about VSE, and between AEI and Heritage you have three pieces on Constellation’s cancellation. One of those Newt Gringrich largely agreeing with Cato (AEI). Another was by a “director of strategic communications” decrying the perceived undermining of American human spaceflight in general and lunar return in particular (Heritage). The last one was a shot at the Muslim outreach debacle (also, Heritage).

    If you want to get conservatives riled up on the right side of space, you’ll need to marry commercial space advocacy with a clear, conservative alternative to Obama’s vision for national space policy. Once you have that, then you can start finding common ground with Flexible Path. Otherwise, this just boils down to a fight between the status quo and the status quo on austerity.
