The Tea Party in Space is starting to get attention from conservative media. We need to see more of this to forestall a space-policy nightmare like the return of Mike Griffin.

$38 billion over ten years.
= 38 SpaceX companies.
This makes my head explode.
So I’m wondering if the new NASA deals with Tor Books (where they will jointly produce “NASA inspired Works of Fiction” aimed at educating children, and with Project Whitecard/Wisdom Tools (where they will jointly produce a 3D MMO aimed at educating children) will be biased in favor of representing NASA designed and operated equipment as THE ONLY REALITY to young kids.
Or maybe they will have a few story lines about NASA astronauts coming to the rescue of hapless fat cat space tourists.
It doesn’t look like Bill Whittle’s Aurora will be out anytime soon.

Let me see if I have this right:
The reason why public school students can’t read, write, spell, do basic arithmetic, and think logically is because our educational system doesn’t have enough “funding”.
Likewise, the reason why NASA can’t put a manned spacecraft into low earth orbit–despite the fact that humans have been doing it for fifty years and there is no mystery or secret technology involved–is because NASA doesn’t have enough “funding”.
$38 billion over ten years.
= 38 SpaceX companies.
And if history is any guide, that $38 billion estimate is grossly low. It’s hard to think of any major NASA project that has come in one time and budget.
