  1. Grunfeld said Tuesday she may have misunderstood the context and intent of Johnston’s remarks, but that fact is insignificant.

“The words, ‘Jews should be sterilized’ still came out of his mouth, so regardless of the context I still think that’s pretty serious.”

Did you see what Ms. Grunsfeld just said! It just came right out of her mouth! Did you hear her? Blasphemy!

  2. “The words, ‘Jews should be sterilized’ still came out of his mouth, so regardless of the context I still think that’s pretty serious.” she said.

The level of un-self-aware irony in that sentence is jaw dropping.

  3. I suppose idiots aren’t accountable for their actions, so there’s no point in suing Sarah Grunfeld for defamation. Oriyah Barzilay and Hasbara have no such excuse, however. They should be taught that propagating vile gossip and slander as that needs some degree of fact checking beforehand.

  4. Where do we put comments about the .. er .. PowerPoint Saturn V with SSMEs and SRBs? I don’t see a story yet, but “Idiocracy” seems fitting.

  5. Bruce,

I saw that and was interested in Rand et al.’s reaction. Well, “interested” is the wrong word, because I think I know what it is 🙂

The first article I saw on it had no mention whatsoever of Falcon or any other alternatives–just “BIGGER, GREATER!”

  6. If this thread continues its uncommanded drift, the range safety officer may be forced to detonate the destruct charges.

  7. On the SLS, I think Rand is busy writing a response for his paying clients versus us freeloaders.

I’m ashamed to see the idiocracy happened here in Canada. She’s a senior apparently without any logic or sense. The idiots issuing the press release without investigating should be sued.

  8. It’s pretty odd that the Jewish school girl in a class of FIVE-HUNDRED was the only one offended. That alone should have been proof to the screamers that there was NO problem, or they could have done some verification or they could act like adults and think to themselves,

“….hmmmm…say, this sounds rather a dangerous thing for a college professor to say in 21st Century, PCascist, C-eh-N-eh-D-eh. Well look into this, BUT…”

But instead. they borrow from “The Simpson’s” and they all lined up for this years festival of Free Speakers Whacking Day! Forrest Gump was right, stupid is as stupid does I guess.

  9. Believe it or not, I’ve known people that stupid and stubborn. By now she’s invested a considerable amount of self-worth and pride into her claims, so she’ll cling to them like death. The motives of the people who are supporting her are more obscure, but I’ll bet you that fear of being seen as “non-supportive” of anyone who claims victim status is involved.

  10. Whats even worse Andrea is her name is attached to this stupid. When Sarah Grunfeld goes for a job interview, she better PRAY the employer does not run even a cursory check of her because she is emminently googlable. We know hwer age, her University and her stupidity.

I, as an employer, would under no uncertain terms hire this HR nightmare busybody in the making.

  11. There are a lot of stupid people out there. My son is a plebe at the US Naval Academy, and one of his classmates just dropped out because she did not realize that she would have to fulfill a 5-year service commitment after graduation.

Perhaps the greater tragedy is that she took a slot that could have gone to a more deserving candidate, and at this point that slot can no longer be filled.

  12. My bet, Jiminator is that she knew about the requirement, but thought she had a foolproof way to evade it.

  13. I, as an employer, would under no uncertain terms hire this HR nightmare busybody in the making.

Definitely. Like Andrea, I’ve seen her type. Bill’s hope is what is meant by tar and feathers in the internet age. Nobody deserves to be blindsided by her antics. No professional organization should take that chance.

  14. It’s probably best not to use the phrase “Sarah Grunfeld is an idiot” too often in postings, even if Sarah Grunfeld is an idiot. It might cause “Sarah Grunfeld is an idiot” to crop up when some potential employer attempts to google the name Sarah Grunfeld.

  15. And lead him/her to proof that Sarah Grunfeld is an idiot all because we typed Sara Grunfeld is an idiot?

    Thats Sara Grunfeld, right?

  16. Yes; I would hate to have any prospective future employer of Sarah Grunfeld conclude that Sarah Grunfeld is an idiot just because some people happened to use the phrase Sarah Grunfeld is an idiot in their postings. Even though she may have exposed people too careless to check whether Sarah Grunfeld is an idiot to expensive lawsuits.
