I’m not sure what you mean by that. She wasn’t a movie star, but she did serve in Egypt as a WAC.
To say someone led a “a simple life” is a phrase used by a preacher at a funeral for someone who lived their life for the most part keeping the Ten Commandments and not causing trouble. Ava Gardner, it is said, caused a lot of trouble by breaking at least one of the Ten Commandments.
