  1. It took him a few years, but he did come around to supporting Moon Day at the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas (the largest annual space event in Texas). He does leave a legacy in the museum itself, which he helped found and which houses his Moon rock.

  2. Nice how the author treats him as one o’ them deplorable climate deniers. “overwhelming scientific belief” argh.

      1. That was a remarkably good essay, well worth the read.

        It brings back memories of those days of the “Wally, Walt, and Donn Show”, the first live television broadcasts from American astronauts in space (and them holding up the famous sign reading “Keep those cards and letters coming in, folks.”)

        What an innocent time…
