Rubio has not looked happy in any recent photos on the subject of Iran. It does appear that there is a split in the administration, with Rubio, Hegseth, and Ratcliff opposing the MOU, and Vance and Witcoff in favor. It certainly appears to be an inexplicable surrender to the IRGC, and nothing that Trump has said about it makes any sense. He apparently doesn’t understand what the word “surrender” means, let alone unconditionally. And Vance’s BS berating of Israel isn’t helpful, either.

  1. Again it looks like Vance et al are carrying the water to extricate this administration from Iran, open the Straight and get gas prices back down before the mid-term elections.

    No wars used to be a MAGA perogative. Will it remain so? Shall the meek inherit MAGA? Will MAGA matter in 2028?

    1. The MOU is an agreement to talk about making an agreement.

      Iran agreeing to give up nukes might be worth it but I’m skeptical Iran will make a deal on that, so we will be back at war this winter.

      Everyone will have time to adjust but extra time favors us more. We might have drone ships with vls and anti drone weapons by then. Haven’t seen any pipeline updates on x though.

      1. I have a feeling this Iran business is drifting into a long term war of low-intensity air-power. That is, we’ll bomb Iran at will as long as they deign to hold onto their nukes. In order to sustain, we need to modify the oil markets to put America First. Supposedly we have enough domestic capacity to meet all our domestic needs. So why don’t we insure our markets are set up to make that so? I don’t understand why our gas has to rise to $6/gal if the Straight of Hormuz, which is practically on the other side of the planet, is closed. Why should we (in the US) care? I don’t.

  2. Well, there’s a saying that if you and your wife agree about everything, then one of you is redundant. I’m thinking the same applies to administrations, as long as the split doesn’t turn into hostility and backstabbing.

    Might be better in the long run (i.e. two year range, sigh) for there to be some daylight between the possible successors, so we have grounds to choose between them.

  3. Keep it up and either AOC or Harris will be President come 2029, elected by incels and Republicans who think Trump is a surrender-monkey. Now mind you, I would have fucked either of them at an age-appropriate phase of my life. I’m not exactly an incel now, but at 75 I need bonerol to get it up.

  5. I think the rift is a media created phenomenon to cause chaos in the administration and the base.

  6. I think thing are preceeding as planned. US forces continue to monitor Iranian movements and each violation allows them to destroy more infrastructure and depots with inexpensive GPS bombs. What’s interesting is they are not going after the IRGC. I think this will go on for a very long time.
