I miss the days of digestible facts without sensationalism and obnoxious, attention grabbing language.
I still miss my CRT, but my OLED is good enough for as little as I watch anymore. I miss my sound systems more.

Seems like an AI bot. Of course, some kernel of truth, but stuff like “sharpness set at 50” isn’t anything exciting. Sharpness has been a feature of televisions since B&W CRTs.
My TV is just as it came out of the box, all the work done by the upconverting DVD player. I reached the who-cares point decades ago.
I”ve always disliked the “smart TV” concept, but try finding one that isn’t these days. And things like the ACR (blatant spying) are one part of why. Amongst other things, that’s a live beacon as to whether or not you’re home, and thus a physical security risk.
I get my TV signal from a satellite TV service, and the sat dish is one-way (it does not transmit). So, my sat service is not connected to the internet, nor does it have any means of connecting to the company. Same for my TVs; they are not connected to the internet in any way.
