  1. Ummmm…how much time do people actually have on their hands? I mean, either to do this, or to think about it?

  2. Sorry… did you say something… I was distracted by the short hemline on that uniform… to the right.

Did you say something was wrong?

  3. “Starfly” sounds like a blaxploitation movie. Maybe the star police need Youngblood Priest, a ultra-cool former Terran drug dealer to infiltrate an intergalactic drug ring (it’d be smuggling Trek, of course, which would make cocaine look like child Asprin). Along the way, he discovers that there’s a whitey separatist menace that threatens the existence of Earth and that the star police are merely trying to shake down the drug ring for extortion money and don’t give a hoot about Earth. In the end, he plays all the sides against each other and flies off with a hot girl and 100 billion in Sirius Galactic Cred while funky music plays as the credits role. Keep an eye out for his blinged out spacesuit and gold plated bridge.

  4. I like both TOS and Firefly, and I can say authoritatively that the red shirts are on the wrong people.

  5. That is just so wrong. And ridiculous – almost like one of the team of proofreaders for Atlas Shrugged going on to become the chairman of the Federal Reserve.

  6. I never understood the obsession with Summer Glau with Morena Baccarin, Jewel Staite, and Gina Torres all on the show… Maybe I need to watch Serenity before I make up my mind once and for all?

  7. John B. has to be gay. There’s no other logical explanation. 🙂

I thought the mash-up was pretty funny, as were the comments over there. Just don’t see why people need to diss TOS over Firefly, or vice versa. They’re both fun.

The new Trek movie did get a little big grittier. In some respects. I recall one wag comparing the new bridge to an Apple store. Heh.

What struck me was that Simon Tam looked more Kirk-ish than did Mal, but I think the latter is too old to play a newer, younger Kirk as Pine did.

It might be fun to watch some sort of “what if” crossover movie where TOS crew encountered the Serenity crew, a la Harry Mudd.

  8. Heh. 😛

I guess I haven’t seen Summer in anything else to be able to judge, but Morena and Jewel have been on my radar for a while because of Stargate: SG-1 and Atlantis, and Gina beats Summer rather handily, too. Maybe I just need to see Summer in a non-autistic role some time to see what the big deal is? I’ll admit that she started to grow on me as an actress in the series finale, but that’s about it.
