  1. Google this recent article for an alternative view: “Joss Whedon Calls “Horsesh*t” On Reports He Left Twitter Because Of Militant Feminists”.

Contains mostly quotes from the man himself.

  2. But if a conservative subject of a prog narrative contradicts the narrative, he’s always lying.

Huh? Whedon isn’t ‘contradicting’ a progressive narrative — he explicitly states that he didn’t quit Twitter because of reactions of feminists. If anything he’s affirming the progressive narrative.

    1. You read my comment and thought I was talking about Whedon and not you?

      God, you’re an idiot.

Your sophisticated rhetorical style is stunning.

You read my comment and thought I was talking about Whedon and not you?

To be honest it wasn’t clear whose “prog narrative” you were talking about. Well, I wasn’t calling the conservative author of the first piece a liar at all. But when he writes about Whedon:

Oh, I know you say you didn’t leave Twitter because of the bullshit being flung at you, but frankly, that doesn’t even pass the laugh test.

I have to ask, why not take the man at his word? How does it not pass the laugh test? I think someone using the term “Horsesh*t” is speaking fairly honestly about their opinion of the matter.

        1. Behold Dave’s thought:
I think someone using the term “Horsesh*t” is speaking fairly honestly about their opinion of the matter.

    2. Right. He confirmed the prog narrative, which is why you assume he’s telling the truth.

My comment was about you and your ilk, not him.

  4. Here’s the article

Yep, Whedon denies he left because of the feminists, and then goes on to say (pull quote, my emphasis on Alinski at work):
“I just thought, ‘Wait a minute, if I’m going to start writing again, I have to go to the quiet place.’ And this is the least quiet place I’ve ever been in my life… I’ve said before, when you declare yourself politically, you destroy yourself artistically. Because suddenly that’s the… test for everything you do… in my case, feminism. If you don’t live up to the… test of feminism in this one instance, then you’re a misogynist. It circles directly back upon you.”

If those are his words, then it seems pretty clear he quit twitter because of feminist.

      Nice selective editing. Whedon says:

“That is horseshit,” he told BuzzFeed News by phone on Tuesday…“I saw a lot of people say, ‘Well, the social justice warriors destroyed one of their own!’ It’s like, Nope. That didn’t happen,” he continued. “I saw someone tweet it’s because Feminist Frequency pissed on Avengers 2, which for all I know they may have. But literally the second person to write me to ask if I was OK when I dropped out was [Feminist Frequency founder] Anita [Sarkeesian].”

He clearly states that he quit Twitter because he has writing to do. It’s the whole point of the interview.

      1. LOL, I quoted the full paragraph from the article you suggested. I even provided a link to said article.

He clearly states that he quit Twitter because he has writing to do.

He also clearly states: I’ve said before, when you declare yourself politically, you destroy yourself artistically. Because suddenly that’s the… test for everything you do… in my case, feminism. If you don’t live up to the… test of feminism in this one instance, then you’re a misogynist.

I understand your progressive narrative can’t handle the contradictions, but no matter how you spin it, I’m only using his words from the article you demanded others find.

  5. Joss Whedon is a riddle. His characters make more sense than he does. It’s fascinating. How does he do that?

    1. Maybe he falls into a trance, and Adam Baldwin just puts completed scripts in his hands…
