The Latest Bombshell

Well, now we know why the DoJ and FBI have been dragging their feet for so many months on those subpoenaed documents. I’m guessing we’ll soon be seeing a lot more, and worse.

And then there’s this:

[Update a while later]

What did Peter Strzok do?

Not as much as he wanted to, but he did a lot of damage.

[Afternoon update]

Just got around to reading the whole thing at the first link:

On October 30, the Department of Justice finally got in gear to get a warrant — to include everything dealing during Mrs. Clinton’s tenure with the State Department and all devices — and especially the Comey-denominated “golden emails” from the BlackBerrys and all the messages sent to Abedin to be given to Mrs. Clinton, right?

Nope.

Shocker #1: Despite everyone’s recognition of the importance of the “explosive” “bomb,” and the “golden emails” on the Weiner laptop, the FBI never even sought to review the “golden” emails. FBI General Counsel Baker pushed hard to expand the application to include those, but Strzok and DOJ prosecutors shot it down.

Shocker #2: They deliberately ignored the emails between Huma Abedin and others — despite knowing she was a proxy for the Secretary and had lied to them in her interview.

Federal investigators knew people would email Abedin, and she would print things out for Clinton. Abedin admitted it was easier for her to print things from home in Brooklyn.

Logically then, it appears it was Abedin who deliberately stripped classified markings from emails to forward the information to Mrs. Clinton so she could then deny ever receiving anything marked classified. It’s called “plausible deniability,” and it was a deliberate and illegal scheme for handling classified information.

Shocker #3: Over analysts’ objections, the FBI never reviewed the Weiner laptop to determine if it had been compromised by foreign agents despite finding that Huma Abedin had forwarded classified information to it. Those were flagrant violations of 18 U.S.C. §793.

There are important conclusions from these facts in the inspector general’s report.

This is a much bigger cover up than Watergate, by orders of magnitude.

  1. Does anyone remember how the Wiener laptop entered public consciousness? I can’t recall for sure but think it was from a leak. If this is true, I think the leak is what forced the DOJ to do anything with the laptop.

Also remember at the time, they said they would look into the new emails and texts and some people thought it was a big job but they got it done in just a few days. When people asked how they could get through them all so fast, “Computer stuff bro. You wouldn’t understand. We just computered it real good.”

Anyone see this video? The reading of the Strozk Page texts from actors puts this in a new light. Considering the number of times they talked about methods of communicating that were encrypted or wouldn’t be archived with the intent of hiding what they were doing from future investigators, I am not sure how the IG let them off the hook.

    1. It’s not clear that the IG has let them off the hook yet. There’s at least one more report to come. And there’s a reason he was escorted out of FBI HQ.

      1. Yeah, that’s true but I have little faith in the DOJ. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a fall guy but we still wouldn’t get justice for those at the top.

    2. My understanding was his laptop was confiscated as evidence in the investigation of his sexting with a minor. The news broke 21 September 2016. The NYPD had to investigate. When they went through the laptop, they found the classified information and referred it to the FBI.

      1. Went back and tried to read some of the articles from that period but they weren’t all that much help.

It looks like that girl took her story to DailyMail and that caused Wiener to be investigated? Which then forced a response from the DOJ, who said everything found were just duplicates and/or personal emails and the media (like Newsweek) backed this up through some sort of “investigation” of their own.

People knock Comey for reopening the case but he was forced into it and contrary to hurting Hillary, it helped her by once again concluding there was nothing there on the pederast’s laptop and it certainly wasn’t a security threat. It is amazing that the Democrats and their media think people believe this crap.

        1. It’s not a question, here’s the NYT. Comey never wanted to reopen the investigation. He had no choice. The fact is, the classified data on Abedin/Weiner’s personal laptop was a separate crime from the Clinton Email Scandal. It might be somewhat related, but those emails originated from three different accounts including a yahoo account in Huma’s name. Comey did Clinton a huge favor by suggesting it was all part of the same crime, that according to Comey was only worthy of administrative punishment (unless you were a seaman on a submarine).

It is amazing that the Democrats and their media think people believe this crap.

I agree completely. Comey kept Clinton out of jail.

BTW, in related news, Reality Winner plead guilty to mishandling classified information and just got 63 months in jail plus 3 years probation.

    1. Rand:

That link posted by your reader “MfK” directed me to a page asking for my workplace login password.

We “get” the joke about John Podesta, but can you remove that?

          1. I clicked on the original link and I got a login screen for my account at the “U.” I am going to hold off clicking on links in posts until I get to the bottom of this.

Maybe the computer I use at home to connect to my work account is hacked, but didn’t a similar thing happen to Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager and long-time associate John Podesta, only he typed in his password?

I am enough of a computer geek to at least not type in the password, and I am enough of a politics geek to remember about Mr. Podesta?

        1. I got redirected to a page purporting to be Firefox suggesting I update my browser by clicking the big, friendly button.

  2. Danger Hillary Carlos is lurking! lol
But this is news? We’ve known for years that Barry was the Hill’s Get Of Jail Free card… So technically Barry de-classified it to send to Hill and then re-classified it upon receipt. Don’t you see? It was all “…by the book…”

  3. The heat and invective coming from the lefties is getting more and more intense. Especially from some former “higher-ups”. For example:

“Former CIA Director-turned-Twitter-troll John Brennan fired off another ominous tweet to President Trump Tuesday. John Brennan predicted the outcome of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe would end up like the Watergate investigation–with an impeachment and or resignation and called on Republican “heroes” to circle the wagons. John Brennan was heavily involved in promoting Hillary’s phony dossier and wants President Trump removed from office. The ex-CIA chief invoked Watergate and called on Republicans to circle the wagons and force Trump to resign after Mueller is finished with his investigation.”

It’s taken a long time but I think the pressure is rising on the former administration…they are getting closer to the full truth coming out and beads of sweat are popping out of the foreheads of guys like Brennan and Clapper.

    1. Have we ever had former officials engage the media this way? But now the precedent is set, we will probably see more of it.

    2. I expect the rhetoric from the left to get much worse. At this point, they have only two cards to play: continue the pretense that Trump is the real criminal and/or violently fight to keep themselves out of jail. More and more people aren’t buying the Russian collusion story.
