More Health-Care Unconstitutionality

The Medicare mandates violate the General Welfare clause.

[Update a few minutes later]

ObamaCare criminalizes medicine. Yeah, HillaryCare tried to do that, too. But that time there were enough Dems smart enough to keep it from happening. No such luck last year.

Well, Queen Nancy warned us that we had to pass the bill to see what was in it. But it was important. Who had time to read it?

  1. If you look at the comments on the second article, it’s clear that the Obamabots are out in full force trying to defend this monstrous piece of legislation by using their usual ad hominems and other standard fallacious tactics.

  2. What “General Welfare Clause”? The closest I’m aware of in the Constitution is a phrase in the preamble stating one of the objectives of the Constitution as a whole.

    In other words, claiming that the “General Welfare Clause” authorizes federal action is BS.

  3. The first line of Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution states:

    The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

    Still, if you look at the Federalist Papers, the term “general welfare” as practiced by the government for the last 80 years has little resemblence with what the Founders meant.
