  1. Thanks for bringing some attention to this. This is just sad. First of all, when did it become a crime to “plan” to buy drugs, even in this country? I thought undercover cops had to wait until the money changed hands before they could make an arrest. Second, how do they plan to actually enfore this? Is the completly unconstitutional Patriot Act getting expanded to include the war on drugs? Going to start tapping my phone and e-mail to try and catch me planning to buy a bag of grass in another fucking country? We going to have a “watch list” for suspected stoners? In a time of fiscal restraint and a loud call from the public to reduce gov’t interference in persoanl affairs, this congressman stands alone and says “how can I increase spending and undermine civil liberties at the same time?” Can’t wait to hear Ron Paul’s reaction to this. With any luck this bomb will blow up in Smith’s face just like I hope the NASA inquiry will. Maybe all it takes to make pot legal here is to show just how dumb it is to try and make it illegal to do it anywhere in the world.

  2. Can’t wait until the government has access to all of our medical records and can ban the sale of guns to people with hemorrhoids, halitosis, or whatever BS reason they can come up with.

    What medical record? 🙂

    Live free or die.

  3. Apropos of this, the U.S. Attorney’s office in California has announced plans to go after the medical marijuana dispensaries in the state. And didn’t The One’s Justice Dept. say that they had no interest in prosecuting medical marijuana back in 2009? Another expiration date crossed…
