  1. Except for reason #5 (which deals with illegal aliens) I agree with those reasons.

    I also agree, as I did back when it was created, that it should have never been created.

    Like so many government programs, DHS was created to address problems, and ended up making those problems worse.

  2. This also seems relevant. As always, it is a bigger government that becomes corrupt. Why people vote to increase the size of government is beyond me. No, it isn’t. People will exchange freebies for tyranny any day of the week.

    The most compelling case against big government can be found in cases like these, at the heart of cities that long have been controlled by the big government-loving Democratic Party. Chicago is the political home of President Obama, now run by his former Chief of Staff. Democrats have ruled the city for decades, including such liberal icons as Harold Washington

  3. I should have added what is going on.

    An explosive report by the Guardian alleges that the Chicago police department has run an off-the-books interrogation facility for more than a decade, where the accused are “unable to be found by family or attorneys while locked inside what lawyers say is the domestic equivalent of a CIA black site.”
