This may be a bridge too far, given the state of the agency and Congressional proclivities.
That’s mean, they could probably manage to get him on a honest to god commercial airliner…. If NASA also has to design the bus, he’ll never get there…
They got it all wrong, it’s going from NYC to Denver. It’s the SLB.
There are shorter bus journeys available, they should probably start with a shorter mission – maybe a trip to Orlando – before risking so much on such a challenging and demanding undertaking.
No doubt about it, the excitement is back!!
Which museum will get the honor of displaying the bus after the journey is complete? Or is the bus “reusable”?
And what about fueling? Rather than use existing “fuel depots”, I would assume NASA would send along a first stage (called a “tanker truck”) which will be abandoned somewhere once it’s empty.
Huh, clearly this is an unacceptable risk. None of the vehicle in question is built to be triple redundant, thus failing the very basic man-rating criteria.
