    I’ve got an honest question.

Given how they’ve changed the numbers they count or don’t count or what season in which they do, don’t or can’t count them, does anyone believe the numbers we see now as employment or unemployment ‘totals’?

I don’t play Three-card Monte on street corners either, and because of the same reason I don’t buy the numbers. Hucksters are hucksters, whether they’re playing fast and loose with cards, or unemployment numbers it seems not to matter to the huckster!

Just so long as he wins and goes home with a pocket full of money.

    1. Don’t believe the numbers? You probably don’t believe the CPI either just because they took fuel costs out and change the included items every year.

      1. Ken,
I’m no mathematician, I’m terrible at math in fact. But I do know that no matter how ‘high’ you get in math, you can’t keep changing the rules and be finding the same result.

One of my favorite sayings is, Figures Don’t Lie, but Liars Can Figure!

I just wish they’d let me change the ‘money rules’ like they do things. I’m picturing a negative interest rate on my mortgage so THEY have to pay me to live here.

        1. That’s actually what happens under some circumstances. Once you sign the mortgage (unless you’re silly enough to get an adjustable rate) you may be paying in future dollars that actually do give you a negative rate.
