So they have more pistols because Harper has argued for more “long guns[?][!].”
And “many leaders, including American presidents have been assassinated with long guns.” Presidents, plural. Of the four presidents assassinated, one was done in by a “long gun” (JFK) and the rest by pistols. Most of the many attempts were done with pistols, including an all out assault on Blair House while Truman was there, were conducted with pistols.
