America’s future under continued Democrat rule.
And of course, as always, we get to play “Name That Party” with (Democrat) Kilpatrick.
Pittsburgh has been under Democratic rule since 1934. It is nothing like Detroit.
San Francisco has been under Democratic rule since 1964. It is nothing like Detroit.
San Francisco has been under Democratic rule since 1980. It is nothing like Detroit.
Based upon these data, it is reasonable to conclude that Democratic control is not the cause when a once-prosperous city becomes a Third World hellhole.
What is the cause?
We all know the cause, of course. But we can’t say it out loud.
Let me get this straight – San Francisco and San Francisco (both of them!) have been ruled by the Dems since 1964 and 1980 respectively? Wow!
Seriously, does nobody ever proofread what they write before they put it out there???
Ignore my argument. Concentrate on my ridiculous typographic error. By doing so, you can avoid any unpleasant feelings that might result from consideration of my opinion.
I don’t give a rat’s hind end about your “argument” (whatever it is), but only expressed my frustration at the sheer carelessness of posters everywhere who can’t take two seconds to read over whatever screed they produce before posting it – which would have caught your typo, no problem.
Detroit is the poster child for the old saying “Don’t put your eggs in one basket.” That basket for Detroit is the domestic auto industry, a mature industry in decline, prevented by the UAW from achieving competitive economies of scale. (Full disclosure: I drive a ’98 Ford Ranger, purchased from Carmax. Always bought four-wheeled vehicles used.)
Not familiar enough with Pittsburgh to know why the demise of Big Steel didn’t kill off the city. Maybe the city is more economically diversified than Detroit.
Why don’t you say it out loud.
For the same reason I don’t have to say “the sky is blue”: because there’s no point in saying something that any honest person already knows to be true.
Anyone with open eyes can See the truth. But too few have the courage to admit that what they See is real. Far better to close one’s eyes or turn one’s head and pretend that the obvious truth isn’t true.
“It’s the unions.” ‘It’s the economy.” ‘It’s the Democrats.” We’ll believe anything, grasp at any straw, rather than face the frightening truth about Detroit, and about the past sixty years of history.
But no matter how earnestly we believe in a lie, the truth will out. And sooner or later we are all of us going to have to face it.
Better sooner than later.
The amount of time the sky is black, gray, or red exceeds the total time the sky is blue. So, please, enlighten us with what you already know to be true. Come right out and say it. Stop teasing.
Sorry. I insist that you recognize the truth for yourself — or, rather, that you admit to a truth that you already know. If I “come right out and say it”, that relieves you of the pain of acknowledging a reality you’d just as soon not see. It relieves you of the necessity of becoming what our society deems to be the ultimate Bad Guy.
No, thank you. I respectfully refuse to play the role of Bad Guy in your stead. We each of us must face reality and accept the cost of doing so. We each of us must voluntarily assume the role of Bad Guy. Only then can we begin to deal with reality as it is.
I don’t even need to click your links to know they lead to some racist white supremacist site but I clicked them anyway just to have my assumptions confirmed. On top of that, you appear to be a sock puppet.
Ad hominem? That’s the best you’ve got?
I defy you to find one word on any of the pages I linked to that expresses a white supremacist point of view.
I’ve said what I came here to say. You can ignore it if you like, or call me names, or whatever. None of that will change the truth. And you will have to face that truth sooner or later — whether you wish to or not.
Thanks to our host for allowing me to express my opinion in his forum.
Is that bob trying to come back?
‘as always, we get to play “Name That Party”’
That is so blasted annoying. Why do they get away with it?
Presumably they think the party affiliation is obvious enough that it doesn’t need to be mentioned.
