  1. I was glad to see that there was a transcript, so that I wouldn’t have to find a time/place to listen to the interview. Granted, it can be a little tough to read a transcript of a casual conversation, but it was definitely eye-opening (and, luckily, they didn’t have too much Aussie slang mixed in, so I understood it better than the diaolg in the original Mad Max movie).

It was also quite telling that Sami understands the dangers of the current “scientific” method: he refuses to put down item-for-item what he eats in his diet any given day to avoid having it picked apart by nay-sayers, and always qualifies his statements with “this is what MY experience is, but it may literally kill someone else to do this exact same thing.”

I don’t have the patience or budget to try out a diet such as his (nor am I an athlete of any ilk), but it’s good to see someone sharing their story of the benefits that they’ve seen in their athleticism, recovery, and overall health when dropping their carb load way down (but not to zero).
