    In mathematics, the empty set is notorious for having every property possible, including contradictory ones, at the same time. Things long ago got to the point where if one is studying a mathematical property, one first makes sure that there’s a non-trivial set which satisfies that property lest one wastes a lot of time studying properties held only by the empty set.
