Trump’s Attack On Baltimore

didn’t go far enough.

A friend of decades was murdered there a couple years ago, stabbed in the neck while walking her dogs. There remains no suspect, and no motive.

[Update a while later]

Yes. It is (as always, since the founding of their party) the Democrats, not Trump, that are the racists.

[Wednesday-morning update]

Al Sharpton is on his way to save Baltimore from Trump.

[Update a couple minutes later]

Trump is absolutely right about con-man Al Sharpton.

One of the many reasons I can’t take Democrats seriously on race is the fact that they feel the need to kiss that corrupt grifter’s ring to get their party’s nomination.

[Update a few minutes later]

Trump has forced the Democrats to defend Al Sharpton. His superpower is to show them to be the corrupt anti-Semitic racist grifters that they are.

  1. I still like to click Drudge Report for breaking news. I used to do it anytime I got on the internet, but now only a few times a week. Yesterday was a great example why. He has Trump with quotes in a headline saying Baltimore is infested with rats and rodents.

Trump did have one tweet that supports this claim. Under the quote; Drudge has a picture of a black neighborhood in Baltimore with people outside and kids playing with no pictures of rodents or rats. Trump didn’t use this picture. Drudge did, and the inference is that Trump was using rats/rodents as a metaphor for blacks; which Trump wrote nothing anywhere close to this.

So Drudge wants us to see Trump as racists; yet it is Drudge that reads “rats/rodents” and then puts up a picture of black people as an example. Drudge is the racist guy, and I’m not interested in supporting his crap.

Meanwhile, PBS has documentaries about the rodent infestation in Baltimore from just a year ago.

    1. What is going on at Drudge? Its like he hired some doofy social justice snob right out of college to write his headlines.

He has always linked to the traditional leftwing press but always had a good headline that teased something out of the story that made the left look bad, even though most of the article was the typical puffing up of Democrats. Now, he takes an already sensational headline about Trump and rewrites it to be more sensational than the original.

It also used to be a good place to go for stories on topics the media didn’t cover much but were important, or things the media didn’t want people to know about. Not anymore.

      1. In college, I knew this girl who was a journalism major. A near tragic event happened, and she talked about the potential headlines the school newspaper considered. All were sensational and made fun of the near tragic event. The reason was to intentionally spin up readers and generate buzz. A few years later, a similar event would occur that would cost the lives of a dozen people.

The lesson I learned was that journalist aren’t interested in people, and people shouldn’t be interested in them. So while I enjoyed Drudge as a news aggregator and a place to quickly learn of any major events; I’ve never been a fan. Go back 15 years ago; and I quit reading him on a regular basis and found my joy in others increased. I see what you, Wodun, are seeing and agree its a bit of a change. But in many ways, its more inevitable evolution than revolution. It seems all journalist think that if they covered Trump positively, their readers would be bored. Yet, I’m finding more and more people bored with the constant over-the-top sensationalism.

  2. It’s like when Trump got Pelosi to defend MS13. Trump could start Trash talking Putin and before he put his phone down, Democrats would switch over to saying how awesome Russia is, like the last three years never existed.

  3. I used to like going to Baltimore, some decades back. Decent Italian restaurants, and you could walk a pretty girl around the inner harbor whispering sweet suggestions in her ear…

  4. Trump should borrow a few lines from Harry Truman:

” I wonder how many times you have to be hit on the head before you find out who’s hitting you? It’s about time that the people of America realized what the Republicans Democrats have been doing to them.
    Harry S. Truman ”

Whenever the press quits abusing me I know I’m in the wrong pew. I dont mind it because when they throw bricks at me. I’m a pretty good shot myself and I usually throw em back at em.
    Harry S. Truman

There is no more fundamental axiom of American freedom than the familiar statement: In a free country we punish men for the crimes they commit but never for the opinions they have.
    Harry S. Truman

Carry the battle to them. Don’t let them bring it to you. Put them on the defensive and don’t ever apologize for anything.
    Harry S. Truman

I think Trump may have already noticed some of these things…….

    Nothing new under the Sun
