AB5

A letter from a California Democrat to California Democrats: What were you thinking?

She’s being overgenerous in her assumption that there was actually anything resembling thought involved.

[Thursday-morning update]

The bill is so bad that the legislature may dump it next week.

[Friday-morning update]

Now the legislature is going to require strippers and webcammers to get an occupational license.

I volunteer to help with providing the necessary training.

  1. Maybe they should consider civil disobedience? All these Rosa Parks wannabes have a perfect opportunity here. Publicly announce that they will no longer “go to the back of the bus” and they will ignore AB5’s micromangement of their lives. Start encouraging others to do the same, and start support groups when the Franchise Tax Board starts to make examples of the loudest voices.

But none of that’s gonna happen.

    1. That seems like something the state equivalent of the IRS would stomp on immediately. IIRC the bill budgets several million dollars for enforcement.

  2. I have no sympathy. SHE routinely votes for the moron Democrats destroying California. She BELIEVES in their policies… until one caught her and her own business. You play stupid games, you win stupid prizes.

  3. hoping that enough California lawmakers have received enough blowback to put a stop to the madness

Hope is a place in Arkansas. Even after they rollback AB5, California will still have legislation limiting the amount of water a single person can use. And also has a legal agreement with the electrical provider to cut power to any disagreeable rural area, err any area deemed a threat to ruling Democrat politicians of fire.

You are going to need a lot more blowback.

    1. Or as I’ve seen in some employment ads: “Experience with tele-operated devices or a glove box a plus”

  4. I volunteer to help with providing the necessary training.

Sorry Rand but I wouldn’t pay to see that under any circumstances.
