During the last Canadian elections in which Trudeau’s approval ratings were in the toilet, yet he still won handily, one of the conservative Canadian pundits on a live stream about the results said, essentially, “You can’t be somebody with nobody, and we ran nobody.”
I think that applies well to Biden. He’s not viable, hardly visible, and almost equivalent to not running an opposition candidate at all. In 2016, Hillary was off the campaign trail for long stretches (and never managed to find Wisconsin). Biden has been hiding in his basement for a month and won’t stand a chance in a debate, especially given his increasing difficulties in holding on to a single coherent thought for an entire sentence.
We’ve also seen how badly Joe Biden handles anyone in an audience questioning him, going off the handle at random people. As many have noted, that’s a common symptom of cognitive decline.
If we return to any normalcy where Biden is once again taking questions from a crowd, the sexual assault allegations are going to keep popping up, and the likely result is that Joe Biden will keep popping off, likely reminding folks of an angry Harvey Weinstein. His campaign could go south for him very quickly if that happens.
There won’t be a debate, or at least one that where the format and questions aren’t tilted heavily in Biden’s favor. An online format, perhaps where Bird Brain Biden could be coached off-camera? That would become obvious very quickly, but it may be the Red Donkeys best chance to avoid having BBB looking like an oxygen starved broccoli. Trump’s greatest danger in a debate with BBB would be to appear to b bullying the poor old sod.
