      1. Rand, your link goes here, a listing of new streaming content in February. The link to the story about Gina Carano is here.

As to how anything she said was anti-semitic?

“When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less.” “The question is,” said Alice, “whether you can make words mean so many different things.” “The question is,” said Humpty Dumpty, “which is to be master—that’s all.”

  1. expressing transphobic views
That would be listing her preferred pronouns as “Beep, Bop, Boop”. I wonder if she’d gone with “zBeep, zBop, zBoop” she’d have been OK.

Looked her up on imdb, she has a grand total of 15 credits, including 2 video games and 1 single appearance in a TV series (plus 7 in The Mandalorian) Her fighting days are over, and her character died in Fast and Furious 6 so that’s done. She’s obviously not destitute, but she’s still young and very attractive. She’ll be my go-to the next time some air-head idiot claims “Cancel Culture isn’t a thing”.

    1. She was pretty decent in the Deadpool movie, which is the type of movie that appeals to the part of me that just needs to disconnect from reality for a while. She died in that movie, too, so no reprising the role (although Deadpool and Ryan Reynolds AS Deadpool were both retconned to make that movie, so it’s not like movie deaths are permanent anyway).

She apparently apologized for the Beep/Bop/Boop dust-up after being educated on what the whole “gender pronouns” movement was about. Must have only been a half-pound of flesh, or she left re-education camp too quickly.

  2. I’ve never been more glad to be anonymous on the Internet. When the so-called mainstream embraced the Kosplay Kommunist Korps it became clear that these are the Crazy Years.

  3. It was inevitable, which is why I never spent money on Disney+. I was told that “Hamilton” was worth it, but I watched with another person’s account and didn’t make it through the first act of that snooze fest. As for what Gina Carano said or did; what she didn’t do was film a glamour movie about the CCP just outside a real, modern day, concentration/extermination camp and then thank the camp security in the credits.

Did the movie feature scenes of flying through clouds? Just curious.

  4. Charles Cooke at National Review said

    Here’s what Carano wrote:

Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different than hating someone for their political views?

This is fairly stupid, as are most things said on the Internet.

How is that stupid? It’s pretty much exactly what happened. The descent into madness largely started with the “stab in the back myth”, which surfaced in 1918, that was used to explain Germany’s loss in the Great War. It was aimed at the November traitors. That is 100% political hatred. That was then used to smear and demonize a large class of people, primarily Jews.

It was years before German soldiers did anything. The Nazis took power in ’33, but Kristallnacht, carried out by civilians and the SA (who weren’t in the army) happened in ’38. Five years of cranking public hatred to eleven made that night possible, along with the horrors that followed.

Gina was spot on. We have political hatreds combining with racial hatred (“white people are teh evil!”), and sanctimonious nutcases driving it all because they’re perpetually outraged and stuck in moral panic The result isn’t good, and can get much much worse.

In contrast to Cooke, Critical Drinker told Gina’s story as an excellent tale.

    1. We just went through five years of Republicans being chased out of restaurants and any event they held being shut down by Democrats beating people up and it is going to keep happening until the Democrats turn away from progressive fascism.

How does Cooke not know recent events? He spends all day on twitter and his job is to be informed so he can write op-eds on current events. Didn’t he get hit with the cancel bat himself?

    2. Hey Charles, she didn’t write that, she shared it. Next time maybe take a moment or two before you conclude the internet won’t properly recognize your vomit if you don’t spout it within 6 microseconds of seeing something.

  5. Rules are rules. Sorry but they must be followed and every Democrat who called someone a Nazi must be fired from their job.

    1. Recently a “@DrLukeStrange1” expressed glee on Twitter over Rush Limbaugh’s prospects for “assuming room temperature” soon. I replied that I hoped he died a slow excruciating death… words that must have triggered a bot since my Twitter account was immediately locked. Not that I care, my Twitter presence is miniscule. But on principle I appealed my suspension and asked why @DrLukeStrange1 could wish death on Limbaugh but I couldn’t return the favor? No reply thus far, not that I really expect one.

      1. Not surprising since they scapegoat non-Democrats for all the sins of humanity past and present to justify inflicting on them every indignity humans can imagine as a form of cosmic vengeance.

The media censors those who expose it and report on it.
