Those Damned Jews

Why won’t they let themselves be killed?

[Update a while later]

More from Carolyn Glick.

When you give terrorists money, you get more terrorism.

[Update early afternoon]

Second link is fixed, sorry.

[Late-afternoon update]

A feint by the IDF may have dealt Hamas a major blow.

Let’s hope.

[Saturday-morning update]

Democrats for Hamas.

And should Israel finish off Hamas, once and for all?

Winning a war: What a novel concept, and something that the US has never allowed Israel to do. In fact, it’s something we haven’t done ourselves in eight decades. We don’t even declare them any more. We just pointlessly waste blood and treasure.

[Sunday-morning update]

Why they fight: Hamas’s little-known Nazi-like charter.

  1. Bush getting Israel to give Gaza to the Egyptians that lived there sure worked out well. The whole origin story of Gaza is forgotten but it illustrates what they do with self rule and a multistate solution. Why would Israel giving up even more territory lead to a different outcome? People wanting Israel to give up Jerusalem and the West Bank brings up the question at the link, why are they expected to do things that lead to their own slaughter?

2nd link goes to the instapundit starlink story.

  2. I guess we are just too set in our ways to allow anyone to kill us.

There’s a joke about most Jewish holidays: “Someone tried to kill us all, we killed them instead, we’re still here – Lets Eat!”

And just remember, with the exception of the War of Independence, the US has prevented Israel from winning every war it’s been forced to engage in.

  3. Democrats for Hamas.

Bibi need Hamas more than the Palestinians. With out Hamas or equivalent threat would Bibi have served as prime minister for 15 years? Just like American politician why solve a low risk problem when you can run on it and win with it.

    1. Had Bibi not served as PM for those years (and hopefully many more) Israel would have been pushed into the sea.

NOTHING else will satisfy the mohammedans, as they have repeatedly claimed.

    2. Interesting theory, do you have any evidence that he has been helping Hamas stay in control?

The rockets aren’t low risk. There would be more death and damage if Israelis didn’t have bunkers and countermeasures. How do you measure time and money lost from constantly evacuating your populace to bomb shelters?

Rockets aren’t the only threat. The former Egyptians and Syrians have tunneled into Israel to murder civilians in their homes and used any number of other methods to kill women and children.

It is incredibly stupid to advocate Israel just bend over and let people kill them.

How bout throwing lifelines to Hamas when the Palestinian Authority had cut off their funding.

According to this opinion Hamas and Bibi have a mutual dependency that going back years.

Israel had lasted 60 years with out Bibi in charge, and in much more dangerous environments. The only hostile state level entities that border them nowadays is Syria and what ever the wreck of Lebanon. And neither of them are capable of running their own country let alone push Israel into the sea. Hamas has been completely ineffectual more a boogeyman.

Per capita nearly the same ratio have been killed by US police extra juridically than Israelis killed by Palestinians, we accept the former risk every day.
Though suppose by your standards with 36 out of a million black people extrajudicial killed by police compared to 11 out of a million Israelis killed by Palestinians.
“It is incredibly stupid to advocate Black people just bend over and let police kill them”

No for the most part I’ll side with the Israeli it is a very rough neighborhood there in but they spent years quelling and removing any-threat to them right now they are the 19 year old big kid on the block. That taunts and takes what ever it wants from the 5 year old (Palestinians) and when the 5 year old flails and retaliates, the 19 year old straight arms the 5 year old ineffectual attack and breaks a arm or or finger or two. And then point to the 5 year old attacking first when any other adult questions them.
Yes don’t quite like infantilizing the Palestinians but the disparity of capabilities are such.

        1. “Yes don’t quite like infantilizing the Palestinians but the disparity of capabilities are such.”

Rocks kill the same as a bullet. No one would stand there and willingly be stoned. The former Ottomans are not nearly as bad off as you make them and to the extent they struggle as a society, you can look to their leadership and culture.

“Per capita nearly the same ratio have been killed by US police extra juridically”

You ignore the costs to people’s lives in fixing damage, opportunity costs from shutting everything down, and the negative health effects from stress. Also, your statistics are suspect but since you believe them, Democrats want to overthrow our own system of government because of that ratio.

Hamas is a deadly organization. That they don’t do more damage is because Israel acts to stop them. I am not sure why Democrats always side with genocidal totalitarian governments except that they often share an ideological affinity for Marxism.

According to your link, Netanyahu allowed the transfer of money from Qatar to Hamas if there was some transparency in where the money was going. The link claimed this could help prevent a rival faction from gaining power in Gaza. What the link didn’t say is that this was how Netanyahu stayed in power and it also ignored how Hamas has the upper hand over their rivals. Why is there a different faction controlling the West Bank? Because Hamas killed everyone in Gaza and maintains that capability.

  4. “Winning a war: What a novel concept, and something that the US has never allowed Israel to do.” Meh. Winning a war is something that no one is willing to do any more. Not us and not Israel. Got nothing to do with what the US “lets” them do.
Winning our war with Japan involved burning pretty much every city to the ground, with their people inside. Israel isn’t willing to do that either.

    1. Except the US has actively prevented Israel from winning every war the mohammedans have waged against her except the War of Independence.

Of course, the US has been happy to let Israel fight the best export war materials the Soviets were able to make, and discover the limitations it had…

      1. My comment stands. Israelis wouldn’t do it if even if they were allowed, as – for example – when Donald Trump was president.

  5. “Why they fight: Hamas’s little-known Nazi-like charter.”

The people now known as Palestinians, formerly Ottomans, Syrians, and Egyptians, were on the losing side in both WWI and WWII and we have never held them accountable like we did Germany and Japan.

How would people react to Germany if they started demanding back land they lost in WWII?
