  1. “This photo from the early to mid 90s shows the Governor having her photo taken in front of a three ring binder of information from local citizens presented regularly to Wasilla council members by the town clerk,” said Palin spokesman Michael Goldfarb. “These binders featured material given by members of the public to all council members.”

So was it a magazine she subscribed to or was it part of a packet of constituent concerns?

  2. Hal,

Yes, many folks still read those books in their attempts to understand the movements that resulted from them.

But do you know of people who have their picture taken with those books on their desk in front of them? And then give it to the Associated Press as part of their history packet?

  3. So who are we to believe. Matula or Couric? She reads or reads not?

I’m just sitting trying to imagine what someone would define me to be based on what I’ve read? When I was younger, reading and breathing was pretty much the same thing for me.

Twenty years in a pew means nothing but one photo with a Bircher article says all ya need to know… So stop thinking… we just told ya it’s all ya need to know. So stop. No more thinking. Astroturf. Where’s my big gavel?

Psst… Thomas reads Rand… He’s some kind of ultra extreme right wing nut. McCain/Reid 2012.

  4. Ken,

Again, it’s about what you read, but about posing for picture with it and then giving it to the Associate Press. At best that’s a stupid and careless, at worst to shows what you are behind the “mask” all politicians put on in public.

  5. Or it could mean she’s isn’t a politician always doing things for their political effect. You call that dumb. I see an open minded person that will look at things on there merits rather than accepting the orthodoxy which she is, more than most, aware is corrupt.

I myself, more so when younger, read everything. Not just those things to tickle my prejudices.

The fact that she does things that are politically inept is a plus in my book. You would prefer a slick wonk that says all the right things to all the right cameras. I prefer real people, warts and all.
