  1. I imagine we’ll have a dearth of overpriced monuments to California’s coming dissolution. So sure, we all really “need” this high speed rail.

  2. Building it where there are nothing but cows, eh? Cows, earthquakes, and high-speed trains all in one place. What could go wrong?

  3. California needs high speed rail, but they’re building the lines in the wrong places. Why try to connect different cities in California when the citizens are just going to be looking for the fastest train that leaves the state entirely?

  4. Here in FL a year ago the newspaper editors got their panties in a bunch when the R Gov refused Obama’s pandering of HSR funds to start a Tampa to Orlando useless rail project that would have cost state taxpayers over $10B. The highway exists and is not clogged. And there are no real public transportation options at either end. But of course the progressives were all for spending “free” money on the boondoggle.
