Woke Privilege

When it turns into woke apocalypse.

I hope that Oberlin is just the first of many such lawsuits. Enough is enough. It won’t stop until they start to really feel pain.

What happened to Oberlin could happen to any college: They’re all a mess.

To be fair, I doubt if it would happen at Hillsdale. But this is amazing:

Gibson’s attorney Lee Plakas asked Protzman what was the reason for cutting ties with the business they had worked with for more than a century. He pointed out emails from various administrators that the student might have throw a “tantrum” on campus, specifically in the cafeteria while eating dinner, and that might be a good reason to get their cookies and bagels elsewhere.

“The concern was that the students were angry?” Plakas asked. “The fear was that angry students would throw food [made by Gibson’s] on the floor [of the cafeteria] and stomp on it?”

“Yes, that was one of the concerns,” Protzman answered.

“Doesn’t that sound more like a nursery school than a college?” Plakas continued.

“Nursery school students do throw food on the floor, yes,” Protzman said, adding “We are not the students’ parents,” as the reason the school could not tell the students to quit threatening to throw food on the floor and eat their dinner like nice people do.

For those who want more details of the “Student Food Stomp Threat,” the food to be flattened into the cafeteria tile was going to be donuts and bagels made by Gibson’s, but no one could was sure of the students were going to put cream cheese on the bagels before they jumped on them.

These “students” do not belong in college. But it will probably take several more multi-million-dollars verdicts to get their attention. They’re like the mule that has to be hit in the middle of the head with a two by four.

In a lot of cases, I’d expect not.

Why is the University of North Carolina funding a “Hub For Social Justice”?

Because they can. For now.

  1. “We are not the students’ parents,” as the reason the school could not tell the students to quit threatening to throw food on the floor and eat their dinner like nice people do.

But they can tell students what activities and speech they can engage in on and off campus. It would be really great if they actually didn’t try and act like parents and control student’s lives. This wouldn’t lead to more hissy fits in the restaurant because misbehaving customers would get the boot in any other establishment.

  2. OK, had to drop another comment. I always wonder if I’m in a bubble and think this problem is worse than it actually is because the sites I read cover the topic so frequently. Are colleges across the country really this bad or is it just a couple? The hobo problem is connected to this so are hobos also as bad as they appear?

Here is a video from a guy who went to Evergreen. I can’t recall for sure, but I think the experiences he describes took place before the problem reached national attention, which isn’t great because it shows how deep the ideology is into faculty and administrators. But its Evergreen so I go back to my question above.
