Climate Hysteria

…is harming our kids.

Yes, she should be in school, but not in a school that has deranged her to this degree. And not only are not “all” of us coming to her for hope, but I doubt that many are. This is another example of government schools being a vicious form of child abuse.

[Mid-morning update]

An unrolled Twitter thread from a mother with an autistic child on why what her handlers are doing to her is so cruel and abusive.

[Update early afternoon]

She hasn’t cured her mental issues; she’s simply found a different outlet for them. But her adult enablers are doing her no favors.

[Update a few minutes later]

Fox News cuts ties with Michael Knowles over calling Thunberg “mentally ill.”

I saw that segment, and the outrage (probably faux) from the Democrat. Well, he wasn’t wrong; she is clearly having problems, and shouldn’t be used as a prop for socialism.

[Update a few minutes later]

The apotheosis of Saint Greta.

I’m glad Trump didn’t bow to her. I wouldn’t have, either.

[Update a while later]

The media is very protective of teenagers, unless they’re wearing MAGA hats.

[Wednesday-morning update]

Experts agree that restructuring the global economy is the best way to treat a child’s anxiety.

  1. I have no personal familiarity with the child nor her family, but I suspect this madness started at home, long before she entered school. It’s like a four-year-old “coming out as trans” or a “vegan” cat. She didn’t come up with these ideas on her own.

If she wants to sue someone for robbing her of her childhood and her future and failing to respect her innocence, then in my opinion she should start with her parents, who coached her in order to use her as a political prop to advance Leftist causes.

  2. If the truth of her stunt was told, all those backing her would look worse than they do now. Her “zero emission” trip exceeded my carbon emissions for the past decade. At face value, she was still on a very expensive private yacht that’s not available to anyone but the most privileged in the world. It is a pure luxury, and her trip’s suggestion that we all should use similar means for travel is worse than Antoinette’s advice.

Alas, she made her statements to the UN. Can you imagine them heeding her advice and only travelling by sail? When they do follow her advice, since they sought to have it; then I might reconsider the seriousness (or rather the lack of it) of their claims about the climate. Let them have sails!

This left a bad taste in my mouth. I get not liking the message and I get not liking children being used in this manner. But I think diagnosing Greta Thunberg as autistic and denying that she has the ability to come to her own conclusions on matters of import is way over the top.

    1. She has been formally diagnosed as autistic. She, Greta, claims “it is her superpower” and as a gift.

As for her ability to come to her own conclusions on matters of import; I’ll just note that most countries reasonably don’t allow 16 year old girls to reach decisions on marriage and sex, which are really important to them. The reasoning is based on the fact that many that age really don’t have the ability to come to good conclusions on such matters of import.

There are plenty of children that believe in cataclysmic climate change that aren’t given cruises on private yachts, nobel prize nominations, and a podium soapbox in front of the UN general assembly. Are you denying her autism isn’t what singled her out? What about her that she has done on her own makes her the poster child she is now?

Then forget I said anything. The twitter thread made it sound like it was an opinion.

      1. Well, if I had a child with all those issues, you can bet I’d stick them on a small boat and tell them to sail across the north Atlantic.

But I’m weird that way. It’s not like any real life parents would ever let a troubled child do that, at least not without having her lashed to the mainmast so she doesn’t fling herself overboard or figure out which valve will sink the boat.

    2. I think kids are prone to fall for the brainwashing because they have no experience. They haven’t lived through enough season to see first hand the variability of nature, how manipulative humans can be when it comes to politics, or how flawed humans who work in scientific fields are still flawed humans.

Kids are in a place in their lives where they trust people of authority by default and that trust is being abused by people who should have to role in life that gives them responsibility over other humans.

      1. Mostly agree with you Wodun but also you have to factor in that she is at the age where kids start to disengage themselves from adults (especially their parents). This is a rocky time and adults know how to take advantage of that to skew young minds.

This kid is going to have a lot of trouble in her life and it’s too bad.

  4. I like the cartoon on the Ace of Spades HQ, with the caption “Child Cult News,” and a spoof version of Grant Wood’s “American Gothic” showing Saint Greta and David (“Heil!”) Hogg as the iconic farm couple.

  5. It is disgusting how kids are being used. But it isnt just the politicians doing this, its the education system. This wont stop until marxists no longer control our schools.

It doesn’t matter how many predictions fail, there will always be a new revelation. The only thing that will make an impact are the cultists not having positions of authority.

The current climate is one of the best humans have ever experienced and combined with our current state of technological and ideological progress, it is the best time to be alive in human history.
