  1. When you walk into a grocery store in Texas and everywhere else I’ve ever been, the prices posted on the shelves are required to be accurate and the scales have to be tested regularly to indicate the true weight.

Now imagine a grocery store that was run the same way a hospital is.

    1. I know how my side of it would go. They’d send me a bill about a month or two afterward. Then I’d ignore it, because my insurance is going to pay part of it. After a few months, the charges would have settled down and I’d cut the check.

Of course, I would have shopped there a dozen times since and new and old charges would be mixed up on that bill. Sometime after my death, I guess my estate would settle the grocery bill for real.
