Harvard Students

Are twice as likely to be mentally ill as the general population.

It raises the question: Are they leftists because they’re mentally ill, or are they mentally ill because they’re leftists? It’s become a new identity group. It seems like much of Democrat politics is simply their attempts to impose their neuroses on the rest of us.

  1. If you cannot respect my mental illness victim-hood you are an oppressor Rand. Accept the inevitability of your Oppressor Tax so that I may have a guaranteed income! It’s the only way I will be able to attend the mostly peaceful protests whereby I can throw bricks as the voices in my head direct me*.

*Being from Harvard, those voices sound eerily similar to Timothy Leary and John Mack.

  2. When I was on the Residency selection board at the giant LA medical school and hospital, I was rarely impressed by Harvard grads…

      1. One of my favorite insults is similar to that, “You are far left… …far left of the bell curve.”

  3. I believe it was William Safire, referring to Hillary Clinton, if you weren’t a liar before you entered law school, the school would teach you to be one. I suppose it is the same with Harvard and mental illness

  4. Maybe it starts with kids with no emotional foundation, purpose, goals, understanding of the world because they’ve been cossetted, protected, shielded by parents.

So that means they are clean sheets of paper and that they feel somewhat unanchored in the world and faintly ill at ease.

    Being purposeless will do that.

Which makes them ripe for capture by the left, given a purpose (tax the rich! white priviliege! Marxism forever!) and how they don’t feel quite so directionless – all of which can lead to mental illness because – and they don’t recognize this – their positions require extremely high levels of cognitive dissonance and hypocrisy.

    Just a thought

  5. Leftism, of pretty much any kind, is a cult belief system. It has provided opportunities for many cult leaders to arise. They have a particular syndrome of psychopathologies. They then busy themselves inducing a different set of psychopathologies in their followers.

  6. Are they really mentally ill, or are they gaming the system to win accommodations for extra exam time and stuff like that? It wouldn’t surprise me either way.

  7. Where to fairies come from? Where do fairies go? What do fairies look like? I’m sure I wouldn’t know! See them flit and flutter, high up in the air! If fairies come from Heaven, then Harvard must be there!

  8. It is the age old question, does leftism attract the mentally ill or create them?

    The answer is both
