The College “Educated”

They’re not educated; they’re credentialed and propagandized, and they’re the problem.

  1. In my IT career, I had to deal with guys with IT degrees who had no useful skills. In mentoring them so they could do the assigned work, my first task was teaching them to read (all they could do was pronounce rote memorized words). Next was teaching programming by example.

I recently bought a new furnace. I could have installed it myself, but, you know, 75. So, the guy I bought it from sent it over with two kids who muscled it in and hooked it up. Then the boss sent over his real tech, who laughed as he re-did the hookups.

    1. Exact same experience about two years ago. Including the follow-up visit by the guy who fixed the wiring to the Nest thermostat. A little more dire as it was winter here at the time! It is a high efficiency “two-stage” gas furnace with a built in humidifier. Not sure I could have done all the hookups on that one. Glad I didn’t try.
