  1. Somehow I was suckered into a talk with a man at a grocery store who thought he could bloviate at me for 15 minutes or so. I tried and tried very politely to get away, but couldn’t. At one point, he mentioned his weight gain. Since I had had enough of him telling me the virtues of the democrat party, I told him that I had lost 25 pounds merely by giving up carbs.

This man, who seemed to get all of his information from the New York Times, then told me that while I had certainly lost weight, I was suffering from nutritional loss. The story doesn’t end well.

There’s something wrong with turning on your heel and walking away?
