  1. The bills will be much higher in a few years, when California has switched 100% to ‘renewables’.

What ever happened with that 100 gallon of water a day limit per house?

  2. Wow, 19 cents per KWH. I pay 9 cents. And yeah, that’s still more expensive than using gas for cleaning and cooking.

    1. Where I am, the monthly connection charges have been ever increasing. The incremental rate is 10-13 cents/kWHr depending on where in ‘Sconsin you live, but if your electric use is within California’s First Tier, your rate is about double that.

Now I know that First Tier electric use means baking with minimal AC if you live inland, but still, where I live, that the connection charge has increase faster than the kWHr charge means that heavy users here are getting a break, the reverse of California.

So at First Tier, you pay about the same in ‘Sconsin as in California, but they really sock it to you in Cali if you use more.

  3. Here in the State of Queensland, Australia the insanity reigns supreme also. We don’t have gas at our house unless bottled which is at least as expensive as electricity.
However in a misguided attempt to “reduce CO2 emissions”, rooftop solar has been encouraged and subsidised. We pay about 22-25c Australian (around 16 -19 US cents) per kW-h. For any solar exported to the grid we get 44c. Haven’t paid an electricity bill in 7 years. In fact they send us a few hundred dollars a year. Great ROI.
Stupid I know, in a State that has vast reserves of black coal but that’s politics.

    1. Bottled gas is also worse for the environment, because of the inevitable leakage when changing bottles… Mexico City is almost all bottled gas cooking and has horrible air quality in part because of the gas.

  4. The useful idiots that voted for BJ better get use to these idiotic CA policies – Regulations provided for your quality of life by Dimwits!

    1. I’m not buying that, maybe a couple of ml to change a 20 gallon/100lb bottle unless you leave the valve open intentionally.

  6. The story has frequent references to “black and Latino leaders.” Where, I wonder, are the comments from “white leaders”? Why don’t we ever hear about what “white leaders” have to say? In fact, who are the white “leaders”, anyway? I’ve never even heard of one. Can anyone answer these questions?

    1. Matty thinks he’s witty, and once again, he’s half right.

Speaking of “war on poor minorities”, didn’t the Calif. minimum wage go up last week? Then again, those serfs from Guatemala and Oaxaca now getting ready to be shipped this way will work for a lot less.

  7. No, it is a War on the Petty Bourgeoisie. The Poor Minorities are just “necessary casualties” in the effort to eliminate what has made America style democracy resistant to a socialist takeover.
