  1. Strong Walter Duranty energy from this one.

With a little I wear a Che shirt cause it triggers the “right” people.

    1. Commies in the USA always scapegoating other people for the sins of commies elsewhere (and here).

  2. “The difference, I think, is that I try to recognize where Trump and Trumpism came from: in large part out of the failures of the Republican Party, and the Republican leadership class — which is to say, people like Pete Wehner (who, for the record, left the GOP a couple of years ago in disgust over Trump)”

Also, recognize where Trump was right, his policies were successful, and how things could have been had he not faced numerous coup attempts and sabotage by Democrats and unelected government workers.

“While the Establishment right, or what’s left of it, pens its sixty-sixth pointless column denouncing Trumpism while back-door surrendering to soft totalitarianism, and while the MAGA hotheads dissipate their anger in futile performative gestures, the right-of-center thought leaders who want to figure out how to resist effectively will be coming to Budapest to observe, to talk, and to learn.”

Except that the MAGA people are in the streets protesting, they are running for local offices, they face all of the punishment the author talks about, which isn’t a soft totalitarianism when you are the one getting beat or murdered, when your business is burned down, when your bank account is closed, or when your business is kicked off the internet. The right of center “thought leaders” aren’t doing anything. Going to Budapest by reading a book isn’t doing anything. What exactly are they going to do? Write articles? Who do they lead? The NeverTrumpers have been rejected. They lead no one. No one elected them. They don’t do anything.

    1. Take Jonah Goldberg for example. I enjoyed reading “Liberal Fascism” but his later actions remind one that the adage “Your enemy’s enemy is your friend” is a outlook of a child. Jonah Goldberg has his own objectives and that can make him your enemy also.

    2. Also, recognize where Trump was right, his policies were successful, and how things could have been had he not faced numerous coup attempts and sabotage by Democrats and unelected government workers.

Scoreboard says otherwise with losing 4 million jobs, and a debt to GDP of 98%.
And what coup attempts and sabotage?
You talking about when his administration refused to build a moat on the southern Border and start a shooting war across it ?
Or when his people in defense department refuse to deploy the troops , to beat, murder, and jail those protesting in the streets over state sanction murders?
When his third hand picked lead of the DoJ refused to announce the election was corrupt with no evidence backing it.

Going to Budapest by reading a book isn’t doing anything. What exactly are they going to do?

Well maybe if those previous people I mention had done this and took the lessons from Hungary. They would of deploy the troops and announced a fraudulent election. They also fined journalist for reporting inconvenient truths and jail them. After all the ends justify the means ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

      1. “They would of deploy the troops and announced a fraudulent election. They also fined journalist for reporting inconvenient truths and jail them. After all the ends justify the means”

You mean like the Democrats did? How many people did you guys murder in 2020 in your communist race riots?

      2. I find it hard to understand people who think that a tsunami is a proof that a president didn’t do a good job. Maybe take a glance at the economy before COVID hit? Trump was on track to being the most successful president for the economy in recent history.
Or, if you insist on looking at COVID, maybe compare the United States with other western democracies in terms of the damage to the economy. Loads of them lost a lot more jobs and never got them back.
Or, compare different states within the United States. Blue states that refused to reopen lost the lion’s share of all those lost jobs that haven’t come back. But that’s the president’s fault too.
“When his third hand picked lead of the DoJ refused to announce the election was corrupt with no evidence backing it.” That’s a good thing, no? Same with the other examples you mentioned. I would bring that as evidence that the fools talking about how dangerous Trump was aren’t considering his place as part of the overall government. It was his nature to push boundaries and to settle back if there was an actual problem.
Unlike, for instance, what Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi have been doing. “Or when his people in defense department refuse to deploy the troops , to beat, murder, and jail those protesting in the streets” Not their people. They are tracking down anyone at Jan 6, but beat and jail them, and they’ve really done it to hundreds of people.

But we going to hold the great recession of 2008/2009 against Obama right? Otherwise Obama still more successful than Trump without covid.

Or, if you insist on looking at COVID, maybe compare the United States with other western democracies in terms of the damage to the economy. Loads of them lost a lot more jobs and never got them back.

Ah you forgetting another metric amount of Death ? Ok lets look at a western Democracy led by a competent leader instead of the bozos in GB, France, Italy, Canada, California, Texas and NY .

Um having some crazy man bouncing against the walls , as your commander in chief who needs to be able make quick and decisive decisions in a emergency like war is not good thing. Besides he wouldn’t let that constrained him for long he would find someone else to do the job just wait a little while for the heat to drop and then do it eventually, this time he just ran out of time.

Not their people. They are tracking down anyone at Jan 6, but beat and jail them, and they’ve really done it to hundreds of people.

Um unlike last summer they are actually gathering the probable cause and evidence to make the arrest and not just grabbing randos off the street and then having to release them cause they had nothing. And also when they do have the evidence and performing a manhunt they haven’t killed them in the process of being arrested. So I’d say vast improvement.

          1. “But we going to hold the great recession of 2008/2009 against Obama right?”

We blamed Democrats for forcing banks to make bad loans and removing restrictions on what types of activity banks could engage in. The recession ended a couple months into Obama’s first term because of Bush’s TARP. The six-eight years of the middle class getting hammered under Obama is what he gets criticized for. When Trump removed a lot of the Progressive Marxist policies, the economy took off and we were energy independent.

Now? The middle class is getting hammered by high gas prices and inflation because Democrat’s Progressive Marxist policies create these conditions. They like to make people suffer.

“Um unlike last summer they are actually gathering the probable cause and evidence to make the arrest ”

Crazy that all those Democrat AGs didn’t bring charges, would drop charges, or give slaps on the wrist like community service that could be worked off at a Democrat militant activist group. Even crazier that the Democrats in the DOJ wouldn’t bring charges or would drop them.

Then stupid Democrats say, “They were all wearing black, there is no way to prove who they are or that they were operating as an organized group. It is all just an idea, a figment of your imagination.” Meanwhile, much more peaceful protesters are tracked by cell phone, bank data, and FBI humint who helped organize the protest. Then they are thrown in prison and tortured. One was assassinated while surrounded by cops while not engaged in any violence. Where are the Democrats to speak up against the ACABs?

          2. Here are the Democrats engaging in an organized hate crime against people because they don’t like their religion. The cops the Democrats control never showed up to protect the women and children who were attacked by explosives and chemical weapons. Biden’s DOJ wont be doing anything because Democrats are the ones who organized and funded this mass hate crime.

          3. “But we going to hold the great recession of 2008/2009 against Obama right?” Is that supposed to make any sense? We hold the great recession of 2009-2016 against Obama. Right? That slow, slow delayed recovery that dwarfed any recession since the Great Depression? He’s supposed to get credit for that, I guess, because eventually the economy kinda recovered. Obviously, no telling if it would have recovered faster without him.
“Um unlike last summer they are actually gathering the probable cause and evidence to make the arrest and not just grabbing randos off the street and then having to release them cause they had nothing.” Um unlike last summer, there was a nationwide manhunt to track down trespassers. Unlike last summer when there were numerous incidents of people who actually blinded policemen on purpose with lasers. No one seems to care about tracking them down and charging them, certainly not charging them with a _slightly_ more severe crime than trespassing.
There are currently people charged with crimes that carry decades of jail time – and offered plea agreements for a couple less decades – for entering the Capitol building with a tazer. Not using it, mind you.
Forgive my suspecting that you don’t actually care about either group, just finding excuses for what you wanted to do to your political enemies.
“Ok lets look at a western Democracy led by a competent leader instead of the bozos” I’ve got a better idea. Let’s look at this as a huge random event with a lot of noise and variability, instead of pretending that you can pick the data point we like and ignore all the other “bozos”, all of whom were struggling to decide to do with a huge problem with enormous stakes. But it’s a little hard to point to Donald Trump as a uniquely bad leader, when he did way better than the EU on a number of metrics.
It’s people like you who made the USA lose WWII, by constantly criticizing FDR for multiple huge mistakes in wartime. Oh, sorry, that didn’t happen – the loyal opposition was actually loyal in those days, and didn’t treat the whole world as a weapon to win an election.
“Ah you forgetting another metric amount of Death” Good point: always pick the metric that seems to help you. Take a look at Indonesia. Till just now I’m sure you were pointing to them as geniuses who beat the plague. Now they are the poor guys who are 7% vaccinated and are dying from the Delta strain. What really happened is they were fortunate till now, and currently they are unfortunate.
But if you do want to look at Death, how about talking about Dr. Eric Topol, who is currently a liberal hero. He was also one of the leaders of the group that fought Pres. Trump, who wanted the vaccines released before the FDA efficacy tests were complete, after the toxicity tests showed that the vaccines were relatively safe. Topol’s reason was stated explicitly and repeatedly: Trump just wants them released before the election.
Of course he did that. He also wanted them released two months earlier. That was a risky call; it might have been for nothing, with some people dying from vaccine complications. But it turns out it would have saved over two hundred thousand Americans, the large number of deaths in between. That was a brilliant and brave thing for a commander to do in wartime, and your guys stopped him, and for this one you get full responsibility.
The vaccine, on the other hand, was a massive push by Donald Trump, more-or-less opposed and scoffed at by virtually all Democrats, including the current President and Vice President. They said the same thing, loudly, during the campaign: Who says we’ll trust his scary vaccine, pushed for political reasons?? He fought the FDA, and supported the drug companies in every way he could, to get it done as soon as possible. There is probably no one in the world who gets as much credit for the vaccine that actually stopped COVID. But credit to Donald Trump is something you cannot bring yourself to consider.
But no matter: This is politics, and your only real goal is to win, and no one is talking about it so who cares.

          4. “He fought the FDA, and supported the drug companies in every way he could, to get it done as soon as possible. ”

Drug companies that used public statements about the vaccine and altered release dates for the vaccines against Trump.

        2. It is the normal bullshit pushed by progressives. “Look at these numbers that show job lost” but “don’t look at the loss in blue states where socialist governors and mayors destroyed their economies so that progressives everywhere could blame Trump”. Texas and Florida economies are still booming. Although to be fair for Texas, it should thank Biden for doubling the price of WTI by hammering Canadian Tar Sands and sucking on Putin’s pipeline to ready it for Merkel. Selling cheap gas to Germany is a great way to keep NATO from asking too many questions about Crimea and Ukraine. And the WTI price doubling only lasts until the massive surplus under Trump is drained and the unlawful drilling bans by the Biden Administration kick in.

Let us not forget how COVID has done wonders for moving Hong Kong in the right economic direction. Yeah progressivism!

          1. It was crazy how Democrats studied the protest tactics in Hong Kong used against the Marxists and used them in the USA to violently riot for a Marxist Revolution in the USA. Turns out, China was feeding a lot of how to protest material to the Democrat’s paramilitaries through tic tok and other social media and we learned that Perkins Coie claimed in court that they can’t be sued by Carter Page because the partners are Chinese or live in China.

Hillary and the DNC contracted a Chinese law firm who hired a British spy to work with Russia to write a fake dossier in order to justify Obama ordering the NSA, CIA, DIA, FBI, DOJ, and State Department to spy on the Trump campaign and engineer a series of rolling coups while sabotaging the incoming administration from implementing any policies the Progressive Marxists didn’t like.
