      1. Could be but we also have to keep in mind how easy it was for Democrats to peel away Republicans. Republicans don’t need to have a majority but a majority large enough to counter RINOs and backstabbers.

OH kiss my arse Wodun you supported a man who just became a Republican 5 minutes before he ran for president. Pretty much held the sword of Damocles over the party that if he didn’t win. He was going to use his loyal fans to back stab and take them all down with him. Who driven out plenty of life long Republicans.

Funny how RINOS seems to always refer to lifelong Republicans and never seem to apply to those that switch sides. Not apply to those who became the favorite darlings of the Old confederate democrats who now make up the base and are in control of the Grand old party now adays. The type who fly the Confederate battle Flag or go out to protect the statue of their local confederate hero,
Even Rand finally admits there was a party switcheroo.

Didn’t know that was in dispute; to the degree that Trump prior to 2016 had a political affiliation it was Democratic not Republican. In fact he was close friends with Bill and Hillary; again not hidden or disputed. It was the left wing media establishment that chose to depict Trump as an ultra-right winger after he announced his candidacy. If I recall that started when David Duke said something about supporting Trump; suddenly Trump and Duke were “affiliated” even though there was no previous affiliation between said men as far as I know.

I thought a “RINO” was someone who pretended to be Republican (conservative) but really wasn’t; not someone who “switched sides” honestly. Thought you were allowed to do that aren’t you? Trump is more analogous in some ways to the late Sen Zell Miller:

Some people whether you agree with them or not care more about their country than their party and will commit themselves publicly.

          2. It ended up being the McCains, Bushes, and Romneys that backstabbed the party because they didn’t like the outcome. That is the actual thing that happened while you complain about your imagined alternate history.

It isn’t surprising that you fell for the both sides hoax and the Great Party Switch hoax. I could explain them both to you but it is a waste of time.

You are pretty worked up for no reason. Might want to go take a walk or something.

    Rebuttal
This is highly suspect statement at moment with what been going on and his torching of billions of dollars and decisions he made torched even billions that aren’t even his or involved.

Also Funny how Musk, you , and probably David Hasanyi weren’t encouraging a divided government in 2018, 2016 or 2020. I know I preferred a divided government and pretty sure I had a comment about it around here circa 2016.
Instead you and your commentariat cheered on the 1 party rule , the house and senate, the filling of the judiciary branch with quite a few loyal hacks. And were encouraging the bureaucratic rank and file being replaced with party hacks.
IF you really want a divided government maybe not support those who are putting forward the strong unitary executive theory of government. Maybe a congress that actually make decisions instead of deferring to executive/judiciary power. Ones that hold votes and let debate happen instead of the current strict top down control from the Speaker and Majority leader to make sure to protect members from votes that could cost them a job.
